- Learn a mapping process from Americans for the Arts based on a metaphorical frame of Emerald City to uncover key components to consider when expanding arts education in rural communities;
- Consider perspectives from next generation leaders; and
- Walk away with a process and a custom map to begin shaping strategies.

CCSESA Statewide Arts Initiative in partnership with the Center for Distance and Online Learning (cdol) at the Los Angeles County Office of Education, is proud to present and host a FREE webinar on English Language Learners and the Arts on September 22, 2021 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
This interactive webinar will share best practices, strategies, and systemic supports to emphasize how the Arts are a vibrant and critical means to nurture English Language Learners’ academic success.
California Arts Standards Introduction Professional Learning – Fall 2021
The California Arts Standards Introduction professional learning is designed for arts educators, multiple subject teachers, school and district administrators, and teaching artists to deepen their understanding of the 2019 California Arts Standards for Public Schools and explore strategies for implementation. This professional learning is offered by Fresno, Humboldt, Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, and Tulare County Offices of Education as part of the collective work of CCSESA Statewide Arts Initiative Creativity at the Core Module 22. This 2-hour professional learning will be offered virtually two times this fall.

Arts Instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) – Fall 2021
The California Arts Standards and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) professional learning is designed for arts educators, multiple subject teachers, school and district administrators, and teaching artists to deepen their understanding of the connections between the 2019 California Arts Standards for Public Schools and UDL in addition to strategies for implementation. This professional learning is offered by Butte, Fresno, Humboldt, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Clara, Stanislaus, and Tulare County Offices of Education as part of the collective work of CCSESA Statewide Arts Initiative Creativity at the Core Module 20. This 2-hour professional learning will be offered virtually three times this fall.

Media Arts is the newest artform recognized in the California Arts Standards. There are Media Arts standards for PK through grade 12. But where is a teacher to start? In this series, teachers will gain confidence and skills to integrate media arts into their classroom. With outstanding partners from PBS Learning Media, Soundtrap by Spotify, and Las Fotos Project, teachers will learn about media arts, develop skills, see connections to standards (ELD, ELA, SEL, and more) and apply them in meaningful ways that can be used in the classroom tomorrow.
This course is supported with TEAL online modules that are available 24/7. This series highlights the CCSESA Creativity at the Core Module 23 and is made possible through a partnership with CCSESA Statewide Arts Initiative.

Demystifying the Framework
The State Board of Education (SBE) adopted the California Arts Education Framework for Public Schools, Transitional Kindergarten Through Grade Twelve (Arts Framework) on July 8, 2020. The Arts Framework supports the California Arts Standards for Public Schools, Prekindergarten Through Grade Twelve, (Arts Standards), which were adopted by the SBE in January 2019.
Please join Louisa Higgins, RCOE Arts Administrator and Peggy Burt, Arts Consultant, as they share their study and learnings about the framework. They will demystify the pertinent information contained in this lengthy and informative document through a presentation that is experiential and will leave participants with a thorough and practical working knowledge of the Arts Framework.

CCSESA Statewide Arts Initiative in partnership with the Butte County Office of Education and the Stanislaus County Office of Education is pleased to host the webinar, Teaching Visual Arts in Connection with History Social Studies. This interactive webinar previews and unpacks the Creativity at the Core’s new Module 24. Designed to enhance both the quality of Visual Arts and History/Social Science learning, this module provides a model for integrating Visual Arts and History/Social Science, and provides six integrated units that meet the rigor of Visual Art and History/Social Science standards.
